With more live action than I’ve done in…a long time.

Not sure if you can hear it clearly, but I say: “How’s that Fen corpse coming?” at the end to Kagami. If you do not recall, my friend Fenrir was previously murdered in my High School Of The Dead review, so I replaced her with a robot clone that has been since short-circuiting. Coming up in my next review? A bathtub!

Also, what do you think of the new remix of the op? CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS NOW?!

If you don’t mind Vixen, I’d like to give you a tiny bit of criticism. Nothing too harsh, but I apologize in advance if I offend.

    1. First off, I’m not really digging the new mix of the theme song. Rabbit’s voice just…. doesn’t sound that great in this version. Not only that, but the sync is off with the rest of the song. Her verse doesn’t line up with the stanzas. I must say I do prefer the original better.

    2. Secondly, your camera is pretty darn fuzzy. I don’t know if that’s because of how far you were sitting away from it or something else entirely, but you might want to look into fixing that for your next video.

    3. Lastly, this really isn’t a critique but rather a personal quip of mine. You actually… LIKED… the ending of MoMH? Personally, it made me sick to my stomach. Literally. I usually don’t have any problems with shows taking dark turns, but the way this show went was SOOOOO incredibly dark, that I literally got sick after watching it. It’s such a dramatic turn from the rest of the show, as well. Someone described the last episode on Amazon.com as “It’s like ordering a steak, and getting a leather jacket instead.”

Anyways, I must say that while I respect your opinion, I really do have to disagree with you about this show. In my opinion, it’s complete and utter trash, even for an ecchi show. And considering I really do have something of a soft spot for trashy ecchi shows, that’s saying something. Heck, there were even parts of Ikki Tousen that I liked!! But not this one. It’s just bad in every possible way in my eyes. If you’re looking for a show similar to this one, but that’s actually good and not gross in any way, check out Sekirei instead.

That’s all I have to say in the matter. Again, sorry if I offended you in any way, and I look forward to your next review. ^_^

-Points to first 5 seconds of the review- All the other comments I can take, Space, but I said at the BEGINNING that it was filmed at night and that’s why it’s fuzzy. C’mon, man, read. D:

  • I haven’t seen this show. And now i know i never will. Wow this looks duuuuumb OwO

  • wwihistorian says:

I heard of this one from Klaus’ review of it. And considering that this is an ecchi anime with some poor tastes in fanservice, I will be avoiding this one.

I do have to say though, Rabbit needs to announciate a little more for the intro. I can barely understand what she is saying, even with the aid of the lyrics.

  • droppingpenny says:

I’ll be honest, the new Intro sucks really hard who ever sung it sounds like he/she was strangling a cat. And the lyrics make little sense, I think you were better off when nobody understood what the text was.

The review itself was ok, I wont check out the show though, because this genre is not really my cup of tea, and if I really want a lot of tits and good fighting I’ll stick to Tenjo Tenge.

    • SpacemanHardy says:

Now that’s just hateful, droppingpenny. If you’re going to critique the song, you could at the very least be respectful and use some tact. >_<

      • droppingpenny says:

I’m very sorry, but this is how it sounds to me, I was just writing what was going through my head while listening to the song. In hindsight it is a harsh but I can’t change the post anymore.

  • 13halszka13 says:

I’ll disagree with StrangeFellow ;) doesn’t look entirely dumb, the show looks like the milder-minded compatriots of the makers of Ikki Tousen and School Days had a cup of tea and decided to make this little OVA together :D
To me it looks like this is something I might watch to kill a couple of hours of idleness once I’m done with my MA exam tomorrow.
Not a deal breaker, but not a brain-killer either.

I hink it was a darn good review, Vix, I feel like I know what I’m getting myself into by deciding to watch this :)

And Rabbit’s singing was neat, I actually never understood the lyrics before I heard them now, so I’m cool with it, I think it’s adorable :) Rabbit, Vix, Fen, Kagami you’re all a riot!

  • 13halszka13 says:

and Snuggle! how could I not mention you! so sorries O_O
quite the PowerSnuggle in this one, you’re awesome too :P

and droppingpenny missed out on a class on tact, I propose to record him singing under the shower and posting it online ^_^

I’m surprised this got dubbed but whatever. I’ll check it out but more than likely I might just rent it at the most. That being said I’m willing to stand my ground and say: I liked Ikkitousen. Yes. I’ve now isolated myself from everyone and will be hated for liking this show while being ridiculed a hopeless pervert. But I don’t care what they say. I enjoyed this show for the sake of pure enjoyment. Not every show needs to be superb in story, characters, premise, etc. Some show can exist for those who don’t want to think and like whatever they’re shown. That’s Ikkitousen: you shouldn’t think but just enjoy they moment. Now I will admit there are problems with the show like stupid romance, two-dimensional characters, non-existent plot and knowing you’re in trouble when your series name in anime is “Ikkitousen” while your manga counterpart is named “Battle Vixens”.

  • JunkWatcher says:

I’m gonna have to agree with all the negative responses about the new opening so far. It’s a nice touch that we’re able to hear and read what is being sung, but the singing is too much out of sync and the voice is a little too loud and just doesn’t sound as good as the old version.

It’s great to have Kitsuki back, though. I might check this out, someday.

  • SmoothOperator says:

    You’re developing quite the harem.

    • notrogersmith says:

@SmoothOperator: Actually, what Vixen has looks not so much like a harem as it does a collection of minions. [Insert "MU HA HA HA" from Vixen here. :) ] Come to think of it, she’s starting to resemble Diamanda Hagan in her evilness, although she’s prettier and more into anime than Hagan.

  • thelog400 says:

scott pillgrim (book 6) everybody dies and blood is everywhere and your all like “HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK MAN!!!!” type of ending for this show?

  • ravenhats says:

As a musician I actually preferred Rabbits singing. It’s more natural sounding and I like that it hasn’t been auto tuned and messed around with. I thought it was a good and thoughtful review. It covered the bad, but also was objective and found some good in it to. It not only gave me the information I need to understand the show (without major spoilers), while being entertained and not getting bored.

Smash job keep up the work,
    Ravenhats

    • ravenhats says:

      *smashing good job

      * It not only gave me the information I needed to understand the show (without major spoilers), but was also entertaining.

Raven needs a edit button O>O

  • ravenhats says:

Also Vix isn’t mixing artist so to expect to her to perfect such a difficult job as to mix and sync. is rather strange. Even I couldn’t do it and I have a abit of background with how this works (or at least one class on mixing).

  • Animevideogamefreak says:

Why isn’t this hentia instead as a official release?
