Yes friends, if you hadn't already heard yet, it's official. All you moe-heads and loli-lovers can breathe a well-deserved sigh of relief:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... e-season-2

Not only is Sentai bringing us the show, BUT they're also getting Bang Zoom to reprise the dub they did for the first season. This news ESPECIALLY pleases me, as in all honesty, I felt like the K-on! dub was one of the biggest surprises of last year (the biggest, of course, being the excellent Bakuman dub).

So Distro...... How are you takin' this news? ;)

Well hardy, I'll be honest with you: It's good news.
I like the second season.....but it's just so much filler :/
I'm glad my favourite episode in the series will get dubbed, meaning we will get Mio and Ritsu as Romeo and Juliette.
However, that means ALL of the 26 episodes will be dubbed, meaning a long ass time before a box set release as well as allot of filler episodes.
Oh yeah, did I mention season 2 is full of filler?
Spoiler: show
I am happy, but after catching up with the manga, season 2 is just not as good and probably the source of most of the "hate" towards the show. Half of the episodes in season 2 don't even happen in the manga and they even bring up pointless filler events to fill episodes.
Best example is the Romeo&Juliette episode, which is my favorite. It was made into a two parter when it should have been one episode. To fill in the cracks, they spend half one episode working at a maid cafe(this happens allot earlier in the manga, like in their first year) and the other episode is half them preparing for the concert.

Nitpicking aside though, I am really happy that it got a dub, so I'll be looking to buy it once the boxset is announce :D

How can a show with no plot have filler?

I was wondering the same thing myself.

It's filler as in they added it in. Half the episodes are not even in the manga.
The thing with season 2 is it should not have been so long and, unlike the manga, they did not continue onto University in the anime.
They also padded some episodes with events that happen a different times(as I said in my example).

And now we wait for them to pick up the movie.
Also Nichijou. Come on Sentai, you're picking up Bandai's slack, you should totally pick this up!

I don't really care about K-On!, but the fact that Sentai has made another huge purchase is astounding.

Good for you guys who care about the show, anyway. This puts all your fears of season 2 never getting picked up to rest.

Ummm... dude the hate comes towards the first season since the people who didn't like the first season won't watch the second season. And those who did enjoy the first season will watch and enjoy the second season because there is a lot more "moe~" to go around. The chances of a fan of the first season not liking the second season is a small one.
And Kyoto ani is just playing around what they were given with. A show about girls doing fun things that are fun and began to milk it. Not to say it was bad, in fact I like the second season more. And it's not like the so called "filler" is pushing your buttons because it's keeping the "epic final" away.
The manga was a 4 panel manga that ran for 4 volumes (and started back up again)
The university "arc" was not going on when the anime was airing so they fillered it up. Is all filler bad? Not at all, and it works for this type of show. It doesn't work for anime with a plot.
