Well by now all of you have seen the news on the front page. Before the lights go out for the last time I thought we could all get together in this thread and tell the Brigade how much we've appreciated the last three years. Stories, videos, songs, teary eyed goodbyes. Whatever you want to do.

So long Desu Des Brigade. Thanks for all the fish, and thanks for putting up with my neurotic ass all this time.

Well... I'm not pleased to get this news at 1:30 in the morning. So I can see myself not sleeping well tonight.

But, thank you D2. This is the first anime community that I have ever joined so it holds a very special place in my heart. Without Ark, Vix, Prof, JO, even the members that left a few months earlier, I wouldn't haven't gotten invested into this bazaar culture of being an anime fan.

I'm gonna miss you guys using this as a home base.

Thanks for all the entertainment and giving me a chance at a modsip, something I've *dolphin noise* my chances on before. I like the places I visit and getting to act as a mod and help out in the place that's given me so many fun times was a great honor. I plan on carrying on serving this place, count on it.

I wish you all luck in your goals. I also want to give an extra big thanks to JO. Her reviews inspired me to improve my writing, I don't think I would be the same person if I had not found her in Youtube.

This is the online community I've stayed with the longest. There have been communities I've joined before and after, but this has always felt like the one I belong to, a sort of second home in a way. Many of the big changes that have happened in the past few years have been thanks to this website, whether it be because a review convinced me to give this strange little medium called anime a chance or because certain members of the site have become some of my most trusted friends. It may be odd to say that a website has changed my life in a positive way, but it's the truth.

It'll be sad to see the Brigade officially go away, but I wish you good luck on your endeavors. Good luck on Tumblr, Prof. Good luck with your website, Arkada. Good luck with Project Objection and grad school, Vixen. Good luck with TGWTG, JO.

I'll end this post with something I've been known for on the forums for awhile, a song that's hopeful and addresses the change.

I have to say, when I first came to this site, I had never seen such a talented group of reviewers together in one place. The Brigade was different from almost all other anime reviewers I had seen up to that point: They were actually good. I can't say how many laughs I've had enjoying the videos since the site's inception, and how much better informed of an anime fan I've become.

Joining the community here was a big step, as I had never joined an anime forum before. I'm happy that I did, and I can't say how thankful I am for the wonderful experiences I've enjoyed as part of this community.

To the Brigaders, I say good luck on all your future projects. Thanks for all you've given to us over the past three years.

Y'all's videos, LP, blogs, streams, other things I'm forgetting, and just stuff you've said have amused and touched me throughout the past three or so years, and the fond memories of them will continue to do so throughout my life. See ya around, DUDBrigade.

Well, it's been a good run, to say the least. Don't think I haven't appreciated The Brigade, because I have. But if we were to completely shut down whenever one of our favorite online hangouts had to go offline, what kind of life is that? Besides, there's no such thing as complete endings. For all I know, the D2B may yet get a second life somewhere, or as something else.*

I'm so sorry to hear this guys. You guys are great and I think you guys are the best reviewers I've personally seen. If any of you guys are ever in Wellington drop me a line and I'll buy you a beer or two. Peace out, best of luck!

Just recently learned about the nes and finished watching everyone's goodbye videos, and it really is sad to see this site go. Althoug I haven't contributed as a viewer much since its birth, it certainly was a nice near 3 year run. I enjoyed the reviews of anime I haven't heard of as even before the d2brigade, I was just getting myself immersed into this medium called anime and getting a better picture of it. Then I just came across some things from the members from TGWTG and I look at Lees and there is JO's review of Grenadier up on his channel which caught my attention (for obvious reasons I will admit) that I watched it and stareted to watch her anime reviews, and one thing led to another that I followed the brigadiers onto this site like many others before me.

Also the reviews certainly got me to thinking on what each reviewer notes and explains their reasons to why they like or hate something within the shows they reviewed, even if I or my sister didn't agree with them, but that's what makes a review fun in the critical sense. It's suppose to make you think why you disagree or agree with them, as well as even learning something about the person reviewing, the show that is reviewed, and other technical things to the show while adding a humorous spin to them.

As to the forum community, I really have to say that I enjoyed coming here, reading up on your silliness and serious discussions. But much like my responses to the reviews, I haven't contributed much here. I mean yeah I come here almost daily and post something in the forum games, but my shyness and pessimistic attitude, as well as a horrible past thing I did to myself on a past forum where I made a fool out of myself, had me be cautious and just not do things that might end up starting a flame war and unnecessary drama. As well as the fact that apparently I can't get my point across in written text very well as I don't know many of you to get an idea on how you think and such. Thus even though this is a sad moment even to me, I still feel like an observor rather than someone who has a similar interst in anime, but just doesn't bother with it as I focused most of my energies in my military history hobby than I do anime. Which I think would get people intimidated or end up causing flame wars very quickly as well as feeling out of placed since this forum is more dedicated to anime.

But back on topic, I will miss this site and in all honesty the news is still a surprise. But I guess the signs were there and I just didn't take great note of them. But even though I more felt like an observor than an active participant of the community of the site who is only just getting his hands dirty in some of these things that were inspired by the brigadiers, I do have to say that this site was still a nice place to go to and i guess I could say was like a nice place to hang out and have some fun whether it was reading the posts or just aiminglessly looking at random posts, or watching the review videos, it was still a nice place to go to.

Ruhe in Frieden D2, and good luck with your future projects guys.
