So Aaron Diaz, author of the Dresden Codak comic did a hypothetical X-men reboot. I've only ever really seen the X-men in the various tv shows and movies they've had, with a spattering of comic continuity stuff(only found out the Celestials and their experiments are an existing thing last weekend, in fact), but I'd definitely check out some stories based on his concept.

Your thoughts?

Sadly will never happen in mainstream comics. The X-Men mostly keep to themselves, but a few members are on other teams (and some days it feels like Wolverine is on all of them). As a result, they keep getting dragged into major events and you can't reboot them without a whole reboot of the Marvel multiverse.

Unlike DC, Marvel doesn't like to reboot their universe, so I doubt we'll see an X-Men reboot anytime soon. The closest thing we have to a Marvel reboot is the Ultimate Marvel universe, which starts over in the 2000's and let's the main comics do their own thing.

Actually they did a reboot after the Onslaught event, but it was soo poor that they quickly undid it by using the plot device of Reed Richard's son.

I suspect that the New 52 will have a similar situation at this rate.

@Durga I know, it just looked like a cool concept. If it were to really exist, all things considered, it would probably have to do what Alan Moore did for Watchmen and make original characters that are just very similar to their counterparts. In a way, it already has, except for the names.
