First thought: you need to cut your daily caffeine intake at least in half. You were starting to sound like Arkada towards the end there.

Second, this is the first Quick Hits for a series I know nothing about, so it was interesting to watch. I still don't think I'll start this up because 600 episodes seems like a bit much even for me.

I watched roughly 20 episodes of Conan a couple years ago. And it was okay, nothing horrible and nothing great. But I'm much more willing to watch a bad anime thats only has 12 episodes, than an okay anime thats longer than 600 episodes.

The dub, from what I remember was okay. Some people might just be a little butt hurt or sub purest

I think that's it, Witch :) I forgot to make a weeaboo joke in there. Oh well!

Yero -- I normally don't have very much caffiene, I think that's why I was so AJSHDAKJDHASJKDHASKJHAJKHDASKJDHSAM,NDASKJHDASKDHASKJHDASKJHASH when the high hit me. Also I was excited for projects, so, it was all a mix of that.

Might've just been me, but I found the whole sugar high kind of adorable.

Either way, I loved Detective Conan/Case Closed when it aired on Cartoon Network back in the day, but even if it wasn't 600+ episodes long I doubt it'd have lasted on there. It's very much a niche show and it didn't really find an audience state side beyond a small cult following.

The voice acting is listenable, a bit stiff and perhaps a little over the top in places where it needed to be a bit more subdued, but it's not a bad listen. It's just not on a higher level dub.

Also the English names thing is mostly annoying because, as someone pointed out in the comments for the vid itself, many of the cases deal explicitly with Japanese culture (especially later on in the series) and eventually they did introduce American and European characters into the show, so it's kind of a good thing it didn't last in the States because that would've been hard to fix once they settled on Americanizing the names of the main characters.

People who're hesitant to watch this... it's understandable, 600 is a LOT, but I don't feel like this is something you watch for the overarching plot, something you have to watch every single episode to enjoy. It's a mystery show. It has the same kind of appeal as all those 70's-80's detective shows, you aren't watching for the overarching plot (which is there if you want it, but still), you watch it because you like the characters and want to see how the mystery plays out. It's something to watch whenever, and because of the nature of how the plot progresses, you don't need a whole lot of information to watch at most any point in the series.
