Two come to mind for me: B Gata H Kei and Glass Fleet. B Gata is unabashedly a trashy sex comedy, and its knows it. That being said, it's not particularly lewd in its humour, and when it's funny, it is really funny, but in a stupid kind of way. It's also animated rather cheaply. I could never actually call it a good show, but it was decent enough to get a few laughs out of me, even if I'd never want to be caught watching it.

Glass Fleet, on the other hand, is definitely not a good show. It's silly and over the top, but at the same time takes itself mostly seriously. It also has one of the worst endings I've seen in an anime in recent memory. But at the same time, it can be creative in some of its characters and settings, and the art is very pretty. Plus, it helps that I've developed a fun drinking game to go along with the show (which I would not recommend playing with alcohol). Overall, it's a fun romp if you're willing to be open about it, which I was for the most part.

I'd consider Fist of the North Star a guilty pleasure. The animation is cheap, which can be fun to watch in the same way that dated special effects are fun to watch. Sometimes it's ridiculously sexist. The story is not exactly deep, with the villains generally being the over-the-top, card-carrying type, and the so-called fighting styles in the show are not so much martial arts as superpowers by another name. The writers add new superpowers as the plot demands, make plot arcs up as they go along, and occasionally throw in dubious retcons. Yet the show, either in spite or because of all that ludicrousness, can be fun to watch.

Mostly ecchi shows or manga that turned out to be pretty awesome:

1) Highschool of the Dead (manga, haven't seen anime yet other than OVA): decent suspense and art

2) Dokuro-chan: good comedy

3) Heaven's Lost Property (Sora no Otoshimono): also good comedy

4) Rosario + Vampire (manga only, anime sucked)

5) Midori Days: Stupid premise but very fun show

6) Kanon 2006: My favorite of the moe show genre

7) Higurashi Kira: Fanservice OVA with my favorite characters from one of my favorite series. Even though all the episodes were pretty silly, it's good to see the characters just fooling around.

I dare you to read Seikon no Qwaser's manga and then watch the anime.

Do it, the contrast is hilarious.

Pokemon is a valid answer at this point. It makes me sad, but I keep watching it.

Puni Puni Poemi is just pure insanity. It's loud, annoying, and it's random for the sake of being random. That description matches some shows I hate *coughpaniponidashcough*

I don't think they're the same thing at all. At least Poemi has a sense of timing with its jokes. There's something to be said about fast editing in comedy. PPD puts something weird on screen and shows it for 30 seconds. It is predictable and has no actual punchlines.

Nichijou falls somewhere in between.

I really only like it for Erio.

Oooh, i almost want to agree. I didn't like the show, but at times i really fell in love with Erio. If anything i'd call her as a character a guilty pleasure.

I don't know what mine are. I don't really use the term, but i guess School Days would go in there. But School Days is School Days. I very much enjoy Bleach too, partly for how dumb it is, and partly for how cool it is. If there's anything Kubo knows how to do, it is making things cool.

Something i enjoyed far more than it really deserves is Chu-Bra (which is about a middle school girl who wants to be an underwear designer), and it's for very specific reasons. The biggest is that there is a guy among all these girls, and he's not a love interest. They're just friends. I want more of that in anime. Another reason is the awesome lady in the group. Someone who is just a awesome lady to everyone, but still has a place in the group. There's something charming about that. It has a reputation of just being a stupid ecchi show, but i don't remember that much ecchi from it, probably because i think the character design is butt ugly.

A manga i mentioned in the first hentai/ecchi thread is Yomeiro Choice. It's like any harem ecchi manga, but way more nude and way more insane. I think it's frickin brilliant, solid 9/10, but it's definitely not something everyone will enjoy.

Oniisama E...

so melodramatic, so over-the-top, so much reused animation...
But how I love it.

Also guilty of enjoying the heck out of Vampire Knight and other worse reverse harem shows like La Corda D'oro and Neo Angelique Abyss.

I'd have to put Kaze No Yojimbo on this list. While the music for this show is great, the characters are interesting, and its source material in retrospect is well woven into the plot, it suffers from major animation and pacing problems. This shows animation was poor even for its time, despite some interesting design choices.

The other big problem is the padding on episodic non-plot based episodes in a anime mostly based around. While it is okay for a work with less of a plot (such as in Bebop) to be set up this way, it just doesn't really work in this anime. It isn't as big a deal since the side episodes are generally interesting and do develop character, but the story is still way too prolonged. Despite these problems I really enjoy watching Kaze No Yojimbo.
